Daiwa Whisker 14' #9/10 Salmon Fly Rod. Absolutely unused and in mint condition with plastic wrap on cork. 20 years ago when I began salmon fishing I bought the same model as this. Off I went to the Tyne expecting to cast to the far bank within the hour. When I found out that I couldn't well, it was obviously the rod at fault not me. So began a journey down a very expensive rabbit hole looking for the magic rod. Now I know no such thing exists. Although there have been terrible rods around, if you can cast you can cast most things. I took this rod onto the grass this afternoon and although it's not a specific shooting head rod? A 38g Rio AFS was going a loooong way. I'd say this is a damn good, solid performer that will cast most lines well, cover a lot of'normal' salmon fishing and probably outlive many more expensive Scandi-wegian sounding Far Eastern imports by a good long time.
