Restored Wright & McGill Water Seal Impregnated Bamboo Fly Rod 8 1/2' 3/2 tube

  

For your consideration is an Impregnated 8 1/2' Water Seal FB rod that needed rewrapping. The gold silk for the FB is unobtanium at any reasonable price, so I wrapped this FB rod in FA wrap colors.

Also put a coat of varnish over the Water Seal label to protect it from any further wear. All sections full length but the tip top on one tip has a slight bend to it, but nothing that will effect casting. No dents in the uplocking reel seat, that works perfectly. Ferrule size are 18 & 12. The cork has been cleaned and it doesn't have any ridging.

I also added a signature wrap at 20" only to realize after the fact that it won't be at 20" with a reel on the rod :-\. The ferrule fit is good with popping when separated, but you can tell that the rod has been used - not overly tight, but absolutely not loose.

The tube shows signs of use, but there are no dents. The top to the tube is from another W&M rod tube (I believe the original would have been brass, but then again this tube matches the color of the FA tubes, not the FB). I have not fished this rod, but lawn cast with a WF7 and DT6 and my will it lay out some line with seemingly little effort.
